CANADA REUSES

It's great that recycling has nearly become commonplace in communities across Canada.  But there's one extra step that can be taken before you make the waltz out to the curb with your various bins and bags: take a second look around.

A lot of materials that are being tossed out every day could be reused.

Recycling is a great way to keep things out of landfills, but it takes a lot of energy to break down those materials - and that energy contributes to the growing problem that is global warming.

By reusing, not only are you diverting possible waste materials, but you're saving the energy it would take to get it to the landfill or through the recycling plant.

The Reuse Network is your primary resource for all things related to diverting waste and living a more sustainable life.  Here you'll find links to our connected network of exchanges, news updates about various re-use efforts, a comprehensive list of resources , and a forum filled with inspiring green-related discussion.

Remember - give things a second look.  If you can't use it, maybe someone else can.  Give it away, don't throw it away.
